These elegant bronze panthers were created by Alexander Proctor in 1898. They wait for prey on marble pedestals designed by Stanford White at the entrance to Prospect Park at Third Street and Prospect Park West. I've seen them in all seasons, and found they stood out the most in winter when the leaves had fallen.
